SSI Science of Diving

This program provides an in-depth and detailed study of physics, physiology, decompression theory, the aquatic environment and diving equipment. It is required training for most SSI Dive Professional programs, as well as some Extended Range programs. 

Course Content:

  •  Physics of Diving
  •  Physiology
  •  Decompression Theory
  •  Aquatic Environment
  •  Diving Equipment


  •  Must be at least 10 years old
  •  Certified Open Water Diver or equivalent

What Do I Need:

  •  Calculator, digital dive tables and notepad


  •  AquaTrec Classroom

Training Materials:

SSI Digital Science of Diving Materials: Complete all quizzes with a score of 100% before you arrive to class.
You must pass the final exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Training Dives:

  •  No Training dives required for this specialty

Class Fees:

  •  Total Cost for the class is $300
  •  Includes: Instruction, Instructor fees, Digital Online Science of Diving Materials, Certification & Digital Certification Card
